Last week, I attended the Geelong Business Club’s April event. These monthly dinners are always a great way to connect with various business owners and experts across the Geelong region.
During the evening, I had some interesting conversations and I was asked a series of questions about my experience running a real estate business. Here are some of those questions and my answers to give you a deeper understanding of our business values and process:
What’s the difference between selling a high end or low end property?
Real estate is about people more than property. It is irrelevant whether you own a $400,000 property or a $400,000,000, the emotions involved in selling are essentially the same. There can be ups and downs, and you can sometimes feel like you are on a roller coaster ride. Emotional attachment to the property is the same – It is your memories and moments tied up with a property, especially if it is your primary residence.
An integrated strategy, like the Smart Sale, can ensure that any type of property in any real estate market, with single or multiple buyers, will reach the highest market price.
How do I market my property in Melbourne and interstate buyers?
We are fortunate in these times that the internet has a worldwide reach. Gone are the days when we needed to pay thousands of dollars for advertising in the Sydney Financial Review. With the main internet portals, buyers from all over the world have access to your property at any time, day or night, without paying big bucks for it.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
What I enjoy about the job that I do is getting to know people in and around Geelong. I love working with elderly clients and first home sellers. In general, people in these groups really appreciate being looked after and supported throughout the selling process, as it certainly can be overwhelming at times.
One of the ways that we are able to decrease any anxiety is by ensuring our clients that they will be fully informed about each step of the process. Our approach is never to force or pressure anyone into making a decision, but rather to provide data and information so that they can make informed choices along the way.
It is like when you are navigating someone from the passenger seat – we can provide all of the guidance, but the final decision is always up to them.
It is extremely gratifying to be able to protect people from some of those nasty real estate sharks out there and to provide a risk-free way to sell their property.
As mentioned before, the Geelong Business Club meets once a month. We have guest speakers across a variety of business related topics. Guests are welcome to attend with a member. If you are reading this and would like to attend, feel free to reach out!
